Little Miss Trouble's third birthday

Well, hubby is once again off for a few weeks.  He missed Little Miss Trouble's birthday, but more importantly, he's missing pumpkin carving with five kids and trick or treating.......hmmmmm.....once has to wonder why he planned the trip at this time?.......

Today was Little Miss Trouble's third birthday.  We went to story time at the library, Wendy's for lunch, and then unfortunately, had typical running around Tuesday night.  We are going to do cake and ice cream tomorrow night.....but of course we had to have cupcakes for breakfast this morning!

Learning to walk

Chunky monkey has been teetering around for the past few weeks. Her walking has much improved, but she still resembles somewhat of a drunken sailor.

We've been worried because our house has tiles and hardwood floors (well, the Navy claims its hardwood-I don't think pine qualifies). We're just sure she's going to fall down and really hurt herself.

So, tonight we took matters into our own hands to ensure her safety..

Okay, so really I attached the blue balloon to her so she could play with it without losing it.  It was from my birthday.  I got carried away and attached all the rest.  But its cute, right?

Anyway, thank you for the birthday wishes.  I had a really nice day.  And I was spoiled and got a new pair of sneakers.  I haven't bought sneakers in about two years-you've all seen them in my photos.  They're nasty and very sad.  So bad, my friend went into her closet to give me a pair that was too big for her.  I've been wearing those, and now I feel spoiled.

I also got a Sony EReader.  I'm not sure how that will be.  I like holding a book in my hands.  I'm sure this will take a while to get used to , but I'm looking forward to it.  I've been getting rid of all my books because I don't have the space or weight available when we move (everytime you move, the Navy allots you so many pounds and if you go over, you have to pay).  I'm really trying to week out my books even more and have about four boxes of homeschooling books to sell.

Gray hairs are ready.....

Tomorrow is the big day. I officially will be allowed to have the few gray hairs that I pluck out of my scalp. I will legally be allowed to have parts of my body leaning more towards the floor than their intended positions.

The big 4-0 has arrived and is just around the corner.

What's a girl to do? Eat chocolate I guess-I have to help the forces of gravity somehow!! :)

Heat Wave

You have to understand that it doesn't get especially warm here. On the fourth of July, the high was 60 and it was 54 when we were watching fireworks, with a wind chill of about 48. It was cold.

Fast forward a few days and its been blazing hot-well, for here anyway. The kids have the blow up pools all set up and have been playing in the sun for the past two days. Its supposed to be warm again today and cooling off tomorrow. It only gets to be about 85, I know, not really hot, but for here it is. A forty degree jump in a few days is big deal.

Next week, its back to our normal- around 70 for a high.'s

Today, is Bug-a-bug's birthday. The big seven. We've already had our traditional cupcakes for breakfast. I'll post pics later. I can't right now cause my computer keeps shutting of because its too hot. It needs to be cleaned out of dust, and this heat is not helping. Have a great day everyone!

weeks of excitement.....

Well, know that my hands and joints are finally on the mend, I can type a little better. Still suffering from joint pain, mostly in my hands, but doing better with that. I have a few pictures to post to update you on what's been going on here.

My dreams of finishing my bachelors have been squashed. Some idiot in the federal government decided that when calculating financial aid-our housing allowance must be added in. This housing allowance is given to us by the way, because the pay for enlisted military members is so low. And, since we live in military housing, we get it paid and immediately deducted every month so we don't even see it at all.

Another idiot decided to suspend the military spouse assistance program. It gave us $6000 to use for school. Not alot, but enough to help out. 98,000 spouses were informed this week that the program has been suspended. They didn't even send us notice, just posted a note on their website. My school was pro-active and called all of their students to let us know. Too bad that because of adding in our housing allowance, even with having five kids, I still would have to pay $400 per class. I did sign up for aid a little late, so best I can hope for is getting a little more by signing up early. I'll finish my class in a few weeks and then I'm in the holding pattern.

On a good note however, we celebrated two birthdays this week. Well, a half birthday for chunky monkey and Princess' ninth birthday.

I have some more photos and updates to our school week. I'll post them later. The olympics have been hampering my study time and I need to get crackin. Please keep Princess in your prayers as she gets her tonsils removed on Monday!

Little Miss Trouble's birthday

We have been very busy this past week. Grandpa made it into town for the birthday and to celebrate his 60th on the first. As a surprise, I flew my brother in last night and he and Kevin met us out to dinner. Dad was very surprised to see the Kevin's squared walk up (both my husband and brother are Kevin).

Little Miss Trouble's birthday went off without a hitch. We had some neighbors over for hamburgers, hot dogs, and cake.


Of course, we still do our traditional cupcakes for breakfast on birthday mornings. Dad is home now for the next 2.5 years, but then goes off again to sea duty so we will continue this tradition and my hips will thank me later, I'm sure.

I have lots of other pictures to post as we've been very busy, when it hasn't been raining-pumpkin patch and carving, sights around Seattle and visiting the pioneer cemetary in what seemed like 40mph winds in freezing temps!
